ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child under their watch.
Escorts children using different forms of transportation (i.e., walking, bus).
Ensure all appropriate forms are completed by parent/guardian.
Ensure parents sign their children in and out with proper identification.
Understand all emergency procedures.
Plan crafts, activities, songs, story time and creative play for children.
Enforce health codes and good hygiene.
Everyone on duty will take his/her job seriously and perform it conscientiously.
Additional tasks as directed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must have Level II background clearance or the ability to obtain clearance upon employment offer.
Six (6) months of related experience.
Experience in children's play, arts and crafts and group activities.
Must have a valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or the ability to obtain these certifications within six (6) months.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate well with participants, parents, other staff, and the general public.
Ability to exercise initiative, interpret and apply laws, ordinance, rules, regulations, and safety and health standards.
Ability to attend Child Abuse Awareness Training required.
Ability to change planned activities in a moment's notice.
Ability to operate a computer keyboard.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Skill in Microsoft Office Suite.
