Date Posted:2021-09-13-07:00Country:United States of AmericaLocation:HFL34: Melbourne, FL 1100 W Hibiscus Blvd , Melbourne, FL, 32902-2704 USAThis position will support the development and implementation of a multiyear footprint project strategy focused on specific products and manufacturing processes to achieve an optimal footprint aligned with the strategic needs of Avionics and Collins Aerospace. Manage a team of operations strategy specialists which assist in creating and driving the footprint strategy and projects. The operations strategy team responsibilities include identification of viable operational network configuration options, oversee core/non-core analysis, prepare business models, detailed end-to-end project planning and support execution of approved operational transition programs globally. Manage multiple integrated and interdependent projects of varying size and scope, and engage with the work transfer project teams to ensure successful transition program execution. Interacts closely with various internal stakeholders, including various levels of leadership in operations, supply chain, quality, legal, finance, human resources, IT, business leadership, international trade compliance and Collins Aerospace global teams. Primary Responsibilities:Collaborate with site Leadership and Collins Aerospace central operations to define the overall site strategy for its product portfolio to achieve an optimal operational footprint;
Develop and implement effective communication plans to different levels within the organization by clearly articulating project plans, status, performance, risk analysis and providing timely and appropriate escalations when required.
Responsible for modeling and analysis of for work transfer projects for all footprint, outsource/insource decisions and provide recommendations with regards to transition sequencing between sending and receiving sites.
Collaborate with finance, work transfer and business leadership to prepare financial models and assess prospective transition program feasibility through the utilization of capital budgeting methods including net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR) and project payback period, to determine whether the potential returns generated will meet a sufficient target benchmark.
Define site support needs for each transition and implement governance in support of each transition that connects operations strategy, Avionics leadership and work transfer project execution teams.
Track financial results related to cost and saving of transition projects and report them regularly.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Executive level communication and presentation skills and experience
Demonstrated competency in working within a highly matrixed, team environment
Ability to dive into the detail and be hands on to bridge gaps where the teams need assistance
Solid understanding of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and other related industry regulations
Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool (s)
Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
Experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in aerospace
Experience in works transfer process and/or use of multi-step phase gate project management approach
Experience in site and supplier consolidation process and standard work
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence in a cross functional engagement
Ability to remain self-driven and highly motivated in a fast-paced environment
Ability to interface with technical and business experts
Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. both external and internal)
Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis utilizing business acumen to provide viable recommendations regarding transition strategies to business and operations leadership preferred
Ability to prioritize, delegate work, manage multiple projects within budget, and perform as a productive team leader and individual contributor
Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
Work transfer/footprint experience
10% - 20% travel
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
