This includes base operations support, engineering, management, maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure systems, construction management, minor construction, emergency management and response, environmental requirements and programs, real property management; material procurement and management, Civil Engineer (CE) deployment training and management and exercise support.Job Details:CADD Specialist/Apprentice Designer in support of design projects, construction projects, and facilities maintenance efforts for military installation providing accurate geospatial data as well as raster imagery.Prepares drawings for an entire project or a portion of a project with independent responsibility for completion. Works as an apprentice designer with some degree of responsibility for content and/or from engineers’ sketches, marked up prints, and verbal instructions. Translates ideas, rough sketches, specifications, and calculations of engineers and architects into complete and accurate working drawings for use in structure and system maintenance, repair, or new construction. Includes information such as location, design, material, and dimensions, and interacts with a variety of branches of engineering to include such things as new building design, floor plans/structures, roadways/parking areas, land contours/drainage patterns, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems, etc. May make site investigations to verify and note details of existing conditions and requirements to ensure all features are reflected on completed drawings. Layouts require a high degree of precision and are used to check coordinate locations, dimensions, and clearances on new facilities/equipment where problems are anticipated. Provides CADD drafting and plotting services to internal and external customers of Engineering Department.Prepares drawings for major contractual requirements utilizing software and associated equipment to prepare sets or groups of drawings for new construction, modification, alteration, or renovation of base facilities. Maintains and updates as-built drawings and ongoing in-house projects. Takes action to ensure that information on drawings submitted as "as-built" for projects are made available in appropriate folders on network server.Possess multi-disciplinary organizational skills made necessary by high degree of interaction with various operation groups. Follows Tri-Service standards for file naming and CADD leveling conventions for the General, Civil/Site, Utilities, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical for sheet files and all model types.For Facility Surveys, may serve as a member of the Building Management Team (BMT) during Facility Space Allocation Survey (FSAS) by collecting data required to revise the floor plan including measurements. Notifies Engineering technicians and BMT Lead of space allocation changes for the revision of the Space Utilization Data Set (SUDS, or S-Files) as required. Responsible for providing geospatial data required for FSAS including the facility location and footprint and SUDS floor plan attribution. Collaborates with the programmer and BMT lead to ensure DoD Category Code (CATCODE) and space use is correct in the geospatial SUDS. Collaborates with the BMT to ensure all space allocation data is reconciled. Provide the SUDS Real Property Allocation (RPA) report to the BMT Lead to support space allocation reconciliation and the accuracy of real property records.Performs other tasks as necessary and incidental to the required work as directed; including on-call 24-7 response with the ability to respond to base emergency within one (1) hour.Here’s what you’ll need :Associates Degree in Applied Science (Architectural/Engineering Drafting Technology) or two (2) years relevant experience.· Knowledge of symbols, terminology, and accepted standards used in engineering drawings.· Knowledge of the equipment, facilities, and systems of civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineering disciplines using CADD software to accomplish assignments.· Skill in maintaining and operating reproduction and plotting machines.· Ability to prepare original and complex drawings that are neat, accurate, appropriately dimensioned, and logically arranged. Knowledge of methods and techniques of drafting, including the ability to print neatly and legibly.· Ability to make mathematical computations using standardized tables and formulas.· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Certificate / License / Registration:Environmental Science Research Institute (ESRI) Certified Introduction and Intermediate training in ArcGISCitizen of USAbility to hold/maintain a Secret Security ClearanceTravel: Minimal, as requiredEssential FunctionsUnusual or Special Physical Requirements of Position (specify and provide % of time required).
