We are hiring a part-time Property and Grounds Assistant for our farmhouse estate on Eagle Lake in Winter Haven FL.
We live on a 15 acre citrus grove in Polk county with a main residence and guest house. The grove is managed by a caretaking organization and the property has a full-time Grounds Manager.
We are seeking someone to work part-time with our current Grounds Manager handling various lawn maintenance duties:
Our Property and Grounds Assistant will:
- Mow the yard, pickup fallen limbs, and clean stone path weekly
- Maintain clean and neat flowerbeds.
- Clean and spray for weeds on beachfront monthly
- Pressure wash dock, pergolas, lannais, driveways and pool deck
- Sweep patios and exterior ceilings for spider webs and other insects
- Other duties and tasks that come up as it relates to property management
Preferred skills:
-Use of equipment, including tractors, mowers, leaf blowers, and hand tools.
-Lift 50 pounds and handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, lifting, pulling, and climbing.
-Communicate effectively.
-Works well independently and with a team.
-Able to work outdoors 98% of shift.
Education/Experience & qualifications:
-At least one year of landscaping experience is preferred, but not required.
-Must have a driver’s license and a clean driving record.
-Must be at least 18 years old.
-Background check and Drug Test (employer covered) required for this position.
In this role, you will meet with the Grounds Manager each week to coordinate and align on the week ahead.
The expectation is for 12-16 hours of work each week. Assistant will have access to all equipment necessary to perform their job including use of the lawn and garden equipment, pressure washer, and power tools. Assistant will have access to the guest house when not in use for lunch, restroom, and breaks.
