-Utilize level rod, prism pole or tape at designated points to assist in determining location and elevations of various features
-Layout stakes for map-making, construction, land, and other surveys
-Carry out instructions and tasks assigned by Director of Surveying
-Draw and measure all improvements on residential and commercial parcels
-Collect GPS data with surveying equipment
-Calculate and locate lot corners based on evidence collected in field and recorded documents
-Ability to work outdoors with long hours and sometimes difficult physical demands
-Equipment setup and operation knowledge
-Job may require moderate to heavy lifting
-Job requires driving
-job requires work in extreme outdoor conditions such as heat, cold, rain, wind, heavily overgrown wooded parcels
-Job requires possible contact with wildlife such as snakes, alligators, insects, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to walk and stand on your feet most of the day.
Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies into remote, rural or urban surroundings if needed.
Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds if necessary.
Regularly walk, stand, crouch or stoop; frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Walk over rough, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
Dig holes & set stakes or concrete monuments as needed.
Cut through thick brush if necessary, using a machete or similar tool.
Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements, which includes extreme heat and cold.
Education:
High school or equivalent (Required)
Knowledge of Florida Minimum Technical Standards
Knowledge of safety procedures (Hydration, snake protection, insect repellant, equipment usage, public deescalation)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Occasional weekends
Day shift
8 - 10 hour shift
