As the Manager of Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the Orlando-based Engineering Studio. You will work with the Engineering Design Studio Executive!You Will
Defines global engineering practice resource strategies and project delivery strategies against project menu while coordinating with Portfolio Design Managers, Construction Managers, Project Controls and Project Managers
Serves as the primary liaison with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction for Walt Disney World and negotiates creative solutions while addressing nuances of code requirements and system requirements for large projects.
Leads Orlando-based engineering teams on major theme park and hotel resort projects through all phases of engineering design, production, installation, testing, and documentation.
Acts as Imagineering's global subject matter expert (SME) for the manager’s engineering discipline.
Works with Imagineering Design Management, Project Management and Sourcing Teams to develop Engineer of Record (EOR) contracts and serves as Responsible Individual (RI).
Works with Orlando-based Engineering leads to supervise progress and earned value on all projects, and ensure that technical quality, interdisciplinary coordination and production requirements (budget, schedule) are met
Provides technical oversight of major project construction activities, and guides facility commissioning
Leads conformance and updates to Imagineering Facility Engineering department standards, procedures, and specifications
Analyzes and recommends improvements to existing resort infrastructure systems in support of the Company's environmental goals
Champions the adoption of new processes, technologies, methods and partners with stakeholders to implement.
Advocates the implementation of sustainable design
You Will Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering (or a related field with M.S. in FPE)
Licensure as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, FPE or related field
A minimum of 10 years leading a team in the production of contract construction documents for large scale, complex projects
15 or more years of experience
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
Ability to travel domestically
Preferred Qualifications
5 or more years experience with theme parks or resort hotels
Participation in committees regarding Building and Fire Codes and NFPA Codes and Standards preferred
Solid understanding of OSHA compliance principles
An advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering (or a related field with M.S. in FPE)
Active affiliation with professional engineering societies
