The Manager, Business Intelligence provides leadership and oversight to analysts that develop dashboard solutions and visualizations to improve decision-making capabilities across Walt Disney World Resorts, Premium Services, and Transportation organizations. This individual must have or develop a rich understanding of the operational areas supported by the Quality Operations team to deliver effective business intelligence in order to enable operations to drive Guest, Cast, and financial improvements. In addition to providing comprehensive oversight to the team, the Manager will lead interactions with the Operations, the Line of Business, and multiple analytics and technology groups. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader, a confident data-led storyteller, and a natural collaborator who will work in close partnership with a variety of teams.The Manager, Business Intelligence will report to the Walt Disney World Manager, Resorts Quality Operations Systems, and directs a team of 4 professionals.You Will:- Exhibit critical thinking to scope work, shape dashboards and reports, set priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate results that can be understood and acted upon
- Navigate between tactical project leadership, hands-on technical coaching (e.g., SQL, Tableau), and business-focused collaboration with clients and executives
- Identify functional requirements through process analysis, review of procedures, interviews, and meetings with stakeholders
- Analyze data and information and understand how the data connects by identifying appropriate data sources
- Discover source data that causes problems downstream, identify solution options, and uncover patterns by exploring data
- Occasionally work with Developers and System Architects to use the requirements to design from business and technical perspectives
- Automate delivery of standard reports
- Maintain a multi-functional and comprehensive perspective for implementation decisions
- Communicate technical concepts with audiences ranging from frontline operational Cast to executives
- 2+ years leader of leadership experience (includes people management, mentoring interns, technical leadership, and project management)
- 2+ years' experience using coding languages such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS
- Experience with Tableau and Business Objects
- Experience integrating data across Disney's data platforms
- Experience in Resorts, Premium Services, or Transportation Operations
- Experience integrating a wide spectrum of teams in varied projects.
- Proficient communication skills with technical and non-technical partners
- Undergraduate degree in Analytics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience
