Expect 1 or 2 charters for the first couple of weeks during on-the-job training charters (paid when driving). THIS JOB IS NOT FOR A SHY captain or someone distracted by their phone at work. Fun Customer interaction on all charters and in-water activities/setup for sandbar charters is required. Respectful and positive interaction with other Captains, teammates and dockside Management is a requirement for success.

Extra cash maybe available for some Dockside work also (avg 4 hrs per week) between charters @$25/hour for organizing, cleaning, errands and basic maintenance/repairs (ask). And mechanical/skilled labor to help maintain/repair boats pays $40/hour for skilled/certified mechanics (oil changes, electrical issues, problem/resolution, etc).

Time starts from trip departure time until customer returns to shore. After a training period, two charters per day may be offered (3 or 4 trip-hours each). Tips average $100/half-day or $140/full-day. Last minute bookings are made up until 1:30pm. Dockside work may be available, and hours can be paid while waiting for last minute booking days. OUR CHARTERS & SCHEDULE

Mostly short days (3 to 4 trip-hours) and fun-loving customers easy peezy. Sometimes full day or 2 trips per day required.

Several types of boats available for charters (all 6-pack) on a variety of single engine 21ft-26ft boats.

Popular sandbar, sightsee, snorkel boats need a consistent, reliable, personable captain

Part-time or freelance captains should estimate 4 charters per week, averaging 4 hours each, though some are 2 hour, 3 hour, or 6 hours. Some busy days may require more than one charter per day.

Flexible schedule week-to-week. Request to block days off when needed, but Summer HOLIDAYs and surrounding dates are required. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years day are optional but pay extra! Days surrounding winter holiday date typically also required.

Earliest charter typically starts 9:00 a.m. (with a rare 8 or 8:30 start time). And the latest charter returns 15 minutes after sunset, year-around.

We can try to work around your current employer's work schedule, if you have a second job.

Vacations/time off should be planned in advance, and preferably take place during slow season months and or on less popular days/dates.

EXPECTATIONS OF CAPTAINS

Captain must have fun, positive interactions with customers, on the boat and IN THE WATER.

Captain must be in-water for some activities (hosting at the sandbar, setting up water toys, etc).

Must be able to lift paddleboards and standard-size coolers with ice onto the boat.

Boats must remain clean and well-maintained. You will have to be proactive to help us keep them that way, cleaning well during and after charters, keeping them organized, and reporting boat or customer issues, damage, loss immediately.

Captain must consider himself/herself a true team-member, not simply an individual employee. We will also empower Captains to make rational decisions when on the water and appreciate input to make our charters even better.

Must be a great text/phone communicator and consistently on-time.

Captains must follow instructions and the routes that are planned for each charter, outlined by management, with any proposed changes communicated to management and paid by the customer in advance.
