Job Title: Environmental Scientist (Entry Level)Job DescriptionWe are seeking an environmental scientist to join our team in Miami. The selected candidate will be trained and mentored in various field responsibilities, including soil management oversight, well installation oversight, soil and groundwater sampling, and operation and maintenance of remediation systems. This role supports a variety of environmental projects, such as land redevelopment, electric utility, remediation, chemical/petroleum spill projects, and municipal solid waste landfill projects.Responsibilities

Conduct site reconnaissance surveying using GIS software and hand-held devices

Oversee monitoring well installation

Conduct groundwater sampling

Oversee advancement of soil borings

Collect soil samples

Conduct air monitoring

Monitor gas vapor systems

Maintain mechanical field equipment

Perform construction quality assurance

Prepare field notes and environmental sampling log documentation

Perform equipment calibrations and maintain equipment calibration logs

Essential Skills

Hazwoper certification

Environmental remediation experience

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a similar field

Experience in groundwater sampling

Experience in well installation

Soil management experience

Report writing skills

Operation and maintenance of remediation systems

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Valid Driver's License with a good driving record

Familiarity with mechanical systems used for environmental remediation

Experience with electrical systems, pumps, blowers, motors, and air compressors

Ability to learn and follow technical protocols and procedures

Basic computer skills

Ability to perform fieldwork in adverse conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods

Ability to travel overnight for work and extended out-of-town fieldwork

Strong communication skills, written documentation, attention to detail, and solid judgment

Completion of (or ability to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training

Work EnvironmentInitial projects are located in Hialeah and North Miami, with potential support needed in the tri-county area.
