Electrical Distribution System DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and analytical professional to join our team as an Electrical Distribution System Designer. This position involves intermediate technical work in the design of electrical distribution system extensions and managing activities for the development or improvement of electric power availability. Your role will encompass a mix of analytical, managerial, and physical labor tasks, performed under the general supervision of the Electrical Engineering Supervisor.Hard Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Experience with GIS systems.

Familiarity with computerized work order systems.

Knowledge of NEC and NESC standards.

Technical degree, certification, or specialized training in drafting, surveying, and construction practices.

Two years of experience in an electrical engineering department.

Soft Skills

Ability to manage electric utility projects from introduction to final construction.

Effective communication skills for explaining utility construction standards to various stakeholders.

Ability to perform field surveying work and assist with locating underground utilities.

Strong analytical skills for performing calculations and designing electrical systems.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups, including co-workers, superiors, and the general public.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

General knowledge of electrical utility design principles and practices.

Understanding of regulations governing the location and placement of electrical facilities and equipment.

General knowledge of substation maintenance and operations.

Thorough knowledge of ordinances and policies pertaining to electric utilities.

Must hold a valid driver's license in the State of Florida.
