We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the installation, maintenance, and repair of alarm systems, including fire and security alarms, cctv, access control and low-voltage systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, mechanical knowledge, and customer service skills to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our clients.
Duties
Install, maintain, and repair various alarm systems, including fire alarms, cctv, access control, and security systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings to ensure accurate installation.
Conduct construction inspections to verify compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for installation and repair tasks.
Layout & design alarm systems tailored to client specifications while adhering to industry standards.
Troubleshoot issues with existing systems, including sensors and low voltage components.
Provide field service support to clients, ensuring the timely resolution of any technical issues.
Engage in alarm system sales by assessing client needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
Maintain detailed records of service performed and materials used for each job.
Skills
Blueprint reading and system design abilities are helpful.
Some knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems related to alarm systems and construction practices.
Ability to work with various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Knowledge of electrical systems in relation to alarm technology.
Previous experience as a service technician is highly desirable.
Understanding of fire alarm commissioning processes and customer engagement techniques.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
2+ years of experience with fire alarm and/or security systems
Knowledge of NFPA codes and relevant local regulations
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
NICET certification is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on experience and knowledge
