PIPE CREW - TAILMAN
To be considered, you must have at least 2 years working on a pipe crew with installation of underground sewer, water, reuse, force main, and storm drainpipe.
Duties include assisting in the excavation process by trenching and shoring to prepare the work area for pipe installation. Install and assemble underground sewer, water, reuse, force main and storm drainpipe. Measure and mark pipe for cutting. Prepare pipe for installation-including beveling, installations of retainers, mastic, etc. Safely rig pipe and structures for lifting and placement in ditch. Communicate effectively with Pipe Foreman and crew members You will be required to conduct your duties in a safe, diligent manner at all times.
To ensure success, you should monitor workflow, suggesting alterations to enhance productivity, as needed. A remarkable crew member will be attuned to the subtleties of each situation, possessing sound knowledge of when to lead or follow.
Responsibilities:
Operate skid steer and loader on various jobsites located throughout Nassau County, Florida.
Communicate with coworkers to achieve project goals as required.
Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Observe strict adherence to safety codes and policies at all times.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must have at least 2 years experience as a Tailman or Hillman for a site development company.
Proficient with measuring and marking pipe for cutting.
Exceptional manual dexterity and strength to lay, reposition and align pipes for connection.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license
Prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines and a strong commitment to safety.
Capacity to follow verbal and written instructions.
Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
Regular attendance is required
