The CBP P-3 fleet consists of Airborne Early Warning (AEW) and Long Range Tracker (LRT) high-endurance, all-weather, tactical turbo-prop aircraft. The AEW aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U. S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. The LRT aircraft are used to intercept, track airborne and surface threats in source and transit zone countries. The P-3 aircraft are equipped with state-of-the-art, highly sophisticated sensor equipment, i.e., radar, electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) detecting systems.Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems wants you to join our Team as a SCA Aircraft Electronics Technician (Avionics Technician II or III) and join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.This position is located in Jacksonville, FL with detachments within and outside the United States. We are looking for Avionics techs with essential problem-solving skills to diagnosing circuit and component malfunctions correctly.This is a Service Contract Act position.This position will rotate between shifts, to include days, nights and weekends.Duties include:

Install, adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems in aircraft, using hand tools, power tools, or soldering irons.

Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, or voltmeters to determine equipment or systems operations

Install and adjust equipment replacement parts to ensure optimal performance.

Set up and operate ground support and test equipment to perform functional flight tests of electrical and electronic systems.

Lay out installation of aircraft assemblies and systems, following documentation such as blueprints, manuals, and wiring diagrams.

Interpret and analyze flight test and performance data to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems.

Basic Qualifications:This position may be hired as a Aircraft Electronics Tech II or Tech III.

Avionics Tech II: A minimum of 4 years of documented aircraft avionics experience and a High School diploma or equivalent; A two year college degree with aircraft avionics specialty OR documented military classroom avionics training and a minimum of 2 years of documented aircraft avionics experience may also be considered.

Avionics Tech III: A minimum of 7 years of documented aircraft avionics experience and a High School diploma or equivalent; A two year college degree with aircraft avionics specialty OR documented military classroom avionics training and a minimum of 5 years of documented aircraft avionics experience may also be considered.

Knowledge of and ability to administer a 100% tool accountability and control program.

Ability to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret level security clearance.

Ability to obtain/maintain a DHS CBP Background Investigation; interim CBP investigation is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

P-3 aircraft avionics experience with state-of-the-art, highly sophisticated radar and sensor equipment.

Experience with APS-145 radar, electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) detecting systems.

Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Programs (NAMP) or equivalent.

Avionics degree in related field.

Salary Range: $27 - $30Salary Range 2: $29 - $32The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
