We're looking for an enthusiastic HR Specialist/Coordinator to join our team of dedicated HR professionals. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love the challenge of supporting a large workforce, this is the perfect opportunity for you!Team: 6 HR professionals supporting 16 food service managers and their 1,200 union food service associates at Duval School District, consisting of 153 schools!Key Responsibilities:

Track and log daily tardy and absenteeism.

Report to HR and Dining Directors all employees with excess tardiness or absenteeism in accordance with the policy.

Draft appropriate corrective actions.

Support the coordination of shift coverage.

Call staffing pool to ensure adequate staffing.

Record employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, performance reviews, transfers, and termination date and reason.

Process new hires, terminations, employee changes, transfers, and general employee database maintenance in HRIS system.

Process employment applications and assist in other employment activities.

Coordinate and process reference and background checks.

Process New Hire offer letter/packages and other candidate correspondence.

Maintain and examine complete, accurate, and confidential personnel files.

Compile data from personnel records and prepare reports.

Perform recruiting and administrative duties as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

2 years of HR experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in human resources, business or other relevant degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in working as an HR / recruitment specialist or functional professional with relevant technical experience preferred.

Excellent organizational, communication and relationship management skills.

Computer skills including intermediate level proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint (knowledge of SAP/SuccessFactors is a plus).

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and drive for excellence and high performance.

Strong desire for continues learning and process improvements with passion about technology
