Job DescriptionConsult with veterinarians and area managers for specific animal needs like conducting behavioral observations, assessing social compatibility on cohorts or social groups, tailored programs for animals on intervention programs, shaping and habituation plans, and positive reinforcement training. Collects behavioral observational data on social cohorts or groups for compatibility. Determines potential non-human primate social partners, completes social introductions, monitors progress and makes decisions about outcomes of introductions. Schedule enrichment and behavior tasks as needed and as requests come through to support animals in various departments. Train site staff on nonhuman primate natural history and behavior. Prior behavioral study of nonhuman primates Understand the Animal Welfare Act and how it pertains to the psychological well-being of nonhuman primates in laboratory animal management.
