I have a small organic clothing line and am looking for a skilled and experienced seamstress.
Although industrial machines are preferred I am open to the use of home machines.
Currently I run dye baths for the fabric and I cut all garments to be sewn but I would love to find someone who is also capable of cutting. Cutting requires more space but I would supply cutting mats and tools if needed. Machines needed to process my garments are a serger and topstitcher. I also use a cover stitch machine on a few designs but given that is a specialty machine I am happy to lend one if you do not own one.
Workload varies but I am consistently creating items for both my website and for wholesale clients.
I compensate per garment and expect a tidy workspace free of smoke and pet hair. I may drop off work sometimes but would also like for you to be able to pick up from my place. I work with all natural, organic fibers including raw silk, hemp, bamboo and organic cotton. I will supply thread and some other components needed to complete the job. My designs include basic leggings and bottoms, detailed robes, dresses, skirts and more. I will share an example garment for reference as new designs are learned. I have a piece work contract that protects any of my materials you may use.
