Team Leader - Assembly - 2nd ShiftCountry/Region: USLocation:Gainesville, GA, USReq ID 72160 | Gainesville 2, United States ZF Gainesville, LLCPosition Summary: Responsible for supporting defined areas of assembly and/or machining and provide direction to Team members for daily production requirements. Ensure an orderly work flow that meets safety, quality and production standards while ensuring on time delivery to the Customer. Assist the Production Supervisor in the training and leading of employees.Position Responsibilities:
Actively works towards ensuring a safe environment. Initiates and follows ZF accident protocol for safety accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Coordinates and arranges availability and flow of production material into, though, and out of assigned value stream.
Leads, directs and oversees the daily operations within the department and meet or exceed all production schedules and quality requirements.
Develops, trains, and assists new operators in achieving proper training sign-off for assigned equipment.
Records and tracks performance and quality data for assigned area. Performs and records inspections of confirmed production verifying parts meet print specifications, customer packing demand, accurate quantity, and correct quality documentation. This includes updating shift reports, KPIs, etc.
Perform duties to effectively handle non-conforming material (NCM) including containment, segregation, and perform scrap transactions. (as applicable by the Business Unit)
Supports production planning and Kanban systems to ensure their proper function. Requests for a cycle count when hot sheets/ordering procedures uncover discrepancy between SAP and actual inventory.
Performs limited supervisor duties in the supervisor’s absence.
Performs operator duties in the operator’s absence.
Communicates in a customer/supplier approach with upstream and downstream processes to ensure production requirements are met.
Enforces and leads by example of company policies, safety regulations, quality system processes and 5S initiatives.
Works extended or flexible hours as required to cover for gaps in leadership positions.
Provide coaching to employees when performance expectations are not met, and notify Supervisor of these coaching conversations.
Essential Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required, or successful completion of a 90-day assignment with a temporary agency.
2+ years of related work experience
Able to read blueprints and/or engineering drawings (applicable as per business unit).
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Basic English language competency.
