Basic procedures will include developing T cell based immunotherapies and othervaccines, animal behavior such as rotarod, gait etc (according to IACUC protocols). This involves dendriticcell preparations, tail vein injections, and the ability to administer anesthesia as well as SQ, IV, IP and IMinjections to animals, and performing perfusions.Under the supervision of the PI, analyze tissues using immunohistochemistry, fluorescent microscopy,and confocal microscopy as necessary. Perform ELISAs or Luminex assays as appropriate to quantifyproteins of interest and analyze data. Perform DNA and RNA extractions as necessary for generating thevaccines. Assess results and modify techniques as needed with PI approval. Research PubMed articles.Ensure that experiments are completed in a timely manner. Analyze data, prepare written reports andpresentations of research findings as necessary.Assist in the maintenance of a database of all research results. Retrieve and manipulate computerizeddata to be used in publications and presentations. Obtain, analyze and store digital images acquired duringimmunohistochemistry, fluorescent microscopy, confocal microscopy and anatomical images acquiredpost-operatively. Maintain computer databases and a daily log of research activities/results. Maintain tissuebank.Coordinate general laboratory maintenance and work flow, include ordering supplies, maintaininginventory, assisting with budgeting of laboratory funds, and maintaining compliance with EH&S. Train,direct and coordinate activities of undergraduate assistants, volunteers and other laboratory personnel.Write Standards of Procedure (SOPs) and protocol addenda. Ensure compliance with IACUC, EH&S andradiation control.Expected Salary:$19.32-$21.89Minimum Requirements:Associate's degree in an appropriate area and two years of related experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of related experience.
