Come build your career with us!Job Summary and QualificationsJob Summary:Assures a safe campus-wide environment for hospital’s employees, patients, physicians and visitors. Monitors current safety-related legislation and regulatory agency standards and ensures hospital’s compliance. Implements and monitors hospital’s safety, security and emergency management programs. Coordinates safety activities and training relative to safety compliance issues. Manages and coordinates activities of the on-site security staff administering this program to safeguard life and property in the facility environment for the protection of facility personnel, visitors, patients and assets. Responsible for the valet parking service and campus transportation.What you will do in this role:

Maintains current knowledge of safety-related litigation, legislation, regulatory agency standards, and other issues having application to safety practices within the hospital. Maintains or has access to resource information regarding local and state safety-related codes, and the relevant standards of applicable regulatory agencies, including AHCA, EPA, OSHA, TOSHA, JCAHO, NFPA, DOT and ANSI.

Monitors facility’s compliance with standards of applicable agencies, with particular attention to regulated hazardous materials and waste used or produced within the hospital as indicated by current chemical inventories. Assures that prudent practices are followed in safety matters offering the potential for injury, damage, or loss, with particular attention to current case law and out-of-court settlements. Drafts and distributes hospital safety policies and provides input regarding departmental procedures, for the continual improvement of the facility’s safety practices.

Maintains organized, appropriate documentation of facility’s compliance with regulatory standards for safety, security and emergency management. Assures that required reports are submitted correctly in a timely fashion.

Serves on safety committees relative to hazardous materials and waste, occupational safety, safety education, patient/visitor safety, emergency preparedness, equipment and properties/utilities. Actively participates on the Environment of Care Committee.

Provides management and coordination of the Security and Valet Parking Services as well as campus transportation of employees and guests.

Coordinates the development and implementation of the facility’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and works collaboratively with local and regional agencies.

Plans and executes emergency exercises in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Ensures compliance with NIMS regulations.

Participates in local EMS, Law Enforcement, & Emergency Management activities.

Maintains open, two-way communication with hospital staff closely involved in general safety issues. Maintains liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

What qualifications you need:

High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

NIMS Certification required

CPI Certified Instructor required within 90 days of employment date

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

5-8+ years of relevant experience required
