Custodial Worker II, PK YongeApply now (https://secure.dc4.pageuppeople.com/apply/674/gateway/default.aspx?c=apply&lJobID=533509&lJobSourceTypeID=796&sLanguage=en-us) Job no: 533509 Work type: Staff Full-Time Location: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL) Categories: Facilities Operations/Skilled Trades, Veteran's Preference Eligible Department: 18180200 - ED-SCHOOL OPERATIONS Classification Title:Custodial Worker IIJob Description:Service, clean, or supply restrooms; Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming; Gather and empty trash; Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees; Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment; Clean and polish furniture and fixtures; Clear debris from classrooms, walkways, sidewalks, and entrances; Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment; Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications; Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures; Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems; Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties; Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors/setting alarms, locking/unlocking gates of facility after operating hours or checking to ensure that hazards are not created; Assist, as needed, in delivery of shipments throughout campus; Monitor, clean and supply assigned work stations, including janitorial closets.Complete minor facility requests processed through Spiceworks ticket system, including but not limited to, light bulb changes and pest control/removal; Minor groundwork to include debris/trash collection, blowing surfaces, gate clearance and pressure washing.Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors; Steam clean or shampoo carpets; Move furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucksSet up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings; Drive vans, industrial trucks, or other vehicles required to travel to or to perform facility needs.Have and use the ability to operate/maintain facility tools and equipment as needed.Advertised Salary:$16/hourMinimum Requirements:Completion of ninth grade and one year of relevant experience.Level 2 background check required.This position is open to current UF employees only.Preferred Qualifications:Drivers license may be required.Special Instructions to Applicants:Will be required to flex hours on a rotation schedule to cover facility after hour events, including UF holidays when work is deemed necessary for the facility.This is a time-limited position.This position is eligible for veteran’s preference.
