This position seeks an ABIM certified (or eligible) medical oncologist with experience in managing patients with GI cancers and an active interest in the development and conduct of interventional clinical trials and other collaborative clinical research projects. This individual will have a primarily clinical assignment, but will also be expected to develop, conduct and participate in clinical trials and other collaborative research involving patients with gastrointestinal malignancies with a particular focus on expanding the clinical care capacity and research portfolio offerings to patients with colorectal cancer. However, clinical care and research to a lesser degree is also expected to include cancers of the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, bile ducts, neuroendocrine system, bowel and anus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity and be expected to collaborate in a variety of activities including subspecialty and multidisciplinary GI cancer clinic at the UF Health main campus, cancer case and research conferences both locally and nationally, collaborative GI oncology clinical research and interventional clinical trials.Faculty in the UF Division of Hematology and Oncology are members of the University of Florida Health Cancer Center (UFHCC), the only NCI-designated Cancer Center in North Central Florida. The center is also the only NCI-Designated Cancer Center based at a public university in Florida. The UFHCC blends comprehensive patient care and innovative research in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, with members from 11 of the 16 colleges at the University of Florida (UF).
