Provides guidance to achieving objectives and maximizing return-on-investment (e.g., headcount, operational efficiencies, resource allocation, vendor agreements, etc.). Advises business partners on Finance headcount processes and requirements and assists with resource allocation and prioritization. Develops accurate headcount forecasts for financial planning. Manage compliant cost discipline of Services Contracts.ResponsibilitiesKey Focus Areas: Optimize P&L to fuel growth; Drive P&L standardization and simplification; Partner with SE&O (Sales Enablement & Operations) and organizational units conditions of satisfaction in landing & governance of blueprint; Set Investment Principles/ Lead investment decision governance; Enhance End-Customer Investment Funding (ECIF) Effectiveness; Resource and Productivity Modeling; Hierarchy ManagementOther Responsibilities:Prioritization

Determines operating expenses and conducts variance analyses. Identifies causes and recommendations. Prepares analytical findings and modeling (e.g., headcount, Profit and Loss (P&L) optimization, etc.). Contributes to headcount forecasting process, identifies opportunities for optimization and prioritization.

Assists in the execution of annual business planning and forecasting process. Completes analysis, modeling and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from business stakeholders. Drives rhythm of the business activities for area of responsibility including budgeting and forecasting.

Provides business leader support during financial close periods, budgeting, and forecasting process. Reviews recurring financial statements, reporting, forecasts and presentations. Identifies trends, and formulates action plans. Determines financial results and conducts variance analyses. Identifies causes and solutions. Prepares analytical findings and modeling (e.g., Profit and Loss (P&L) optimization, investment opportunities, forecast adjustments, etc.). Drives rhythm of the business activities for area of responsibility including monthly close and recurring business review preparation.

Partnership

Provides recommendations to team members and business leaders for managing Profit and Loss (P&L), including discussions to optimize operating expenses and headcount.

Applies advanced understanding of Microsoft Finance and business (e.g., monetization strategy, market dynamics, key metrics, Finance and Accounting

reporting requirements, rules, and regulations. Accounting, tax, and control strategy) to multiple contexts and situations to evaluate results, financial models and forecasts, and to complete all filings and reporting. Assesses potential impacts of changes.

Contributes to new and unconventional methods and approaches to data collection, analysis, interpretation, and financial models. Provides advice and direction to teammates and peers on data management and operations.

Develops new approaches to leverage best-in-class technology (e.g., Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics etc.) to accomplish goals. Leads efforts to implement technology to increase productivity (e.g., report optimization) and to ensure accurate conclusions.

Integrates varied data sources and assimilates the information into a comprehensive, clear narrative. Communicates results in a compelling and understandable message.

Protect

Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial and budgetary reports to ensure accuracy and support of internal controls. Monitors control processes and procedures regarding accounting, stat, non-financial disclosures, tax, and regulatory filings. Recommends and executes corrective measures.

Ensures collaboration between business stakeholders and internal audit team. Meets with internal and external auditors to discuss audit procedures, respond to questions, and provide information and records.

Manages accounting and financial compliance, including the collection of data, accurate record-keeping, and coordinating with local Finance, Regional, and Corporate teams to implement accounting and reporting processes and ensure compliance with local legislations and statutory requirements. Reviews all reports and filings for all country, federal, state, and local regulatory agencies (including US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and disclosures). Advises and consults with peers and stakeholders regarding documentation, policy adherence, and sharing of financial data and information to minimize risk. Translates accounting, statutory, and regulatory changes to address impacts on business operations.

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

OR equivalent experience.

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
