IT Support Technician- Full Time- SunStream Hotels & Resorts

This is an entry level position

This position is responsible for providing technical support to SunStream end users by managing, maintaining, and repairing computer and printer hardware, Windows operating systems, POS systems, telephony, media systems, network devices and a variety of application software. Maintain adequate knowledge of existing hardware and software in use to maximize efficiency of Helpdesk support. Evaluate and report Helpdesk statistics on periodic intervals to the Director of Information Technology. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, regularly. Hours are Monday–Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM, after hours support is required.

Education/Experience (preferred):

1 year experience in a Windows domain environment.

1 year troubleshooting systems in business environment.

A+ certification

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in providing computer/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users.

Assist in providing support to hardware/software services such as POS, telephony, and media.

Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software being used to provide high levels of support to users.

Monitor and evaluate efficiency of software/hardware usage, providing items to be covered in training of users, making them more efficient.

Install new software applications or hardware on the LAN, coordinating assistance from third parties when necessary.

Add and maintain users on the network; assigning application access, ensuring security, and maintaining their configurations are within standards.

Assist in installation of workstations and printers on the LAN.

Participate in Team meetings, providing input and suggestions, and prepare minutes of discussion items.

Assist in gathering bid prices on equipment and supplies as needed.

Manage and maintain network documentation regarding known issues and procedures.

Manage remote access and restrict all application modifications by vendors unless tested and approved by the Director of Technical Services.

Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested.
