Summary:
We are looking for a Lab Technician to join our growing team. The Lab Technician is a key role, responsible for the day-to-day completion of work assignments related to testing concrete, soils, asphalt, and other construction materials. The ideal candidate is a reliable, trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and autonomy are valued.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that all testing equipment used is functioning properly, maintained as required by company and/or manufacturer's policy, and that all calibrated equipment is within its calibration cycle
Ensure that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures
Conducts testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable testing standards/methods (ASTM, AASHTO, FM, Army Corp of Engineers, DOT, etc.)
Report data in a complete, timely, and understandable fashion
Complete daily time and labor reports in accordance with company policy
Turn in paperwork related to the work order every day
Attend all technician meetings
Regular attendance is required
Must be flexible to changing schedules and hours to support business needs. Overnight and weekends schedules may be necessary to support business needs
Follow all company safety procedures and policies
Other duties may be assigned
Required Qualifications:
Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a background check screening
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in a laboratory setting
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records
Ability to read & write
Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails
Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear. Body motions and movements include bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing, with or without reasonable accommodation
Lifting and/or moving up to thirty-five pounds regularly is expected, and up to seventy-five pounds on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation
The testing process for the various construction materials (i.e., soils, concrete, asphalt, etc.) is repetitive in nature several times per hour
