We are looking for more care givers for our bedridden father in N. Fort Myers. As my brother and I could use more time off. He is 95 yrs. old and a very sweet patient. He still knows us but his mind is also very muddled with dementia. He cant see very well so he even needs to be fed. He has macular degeneration and now sadly has very poor vision. He is on hospice very thin and can’t get out of bed at all as he wouldn’t tolerate the lift. A lot of the time you will be just sitting around. He is on a cath. which does have to be emptied a few times a day. And he has to be checked for bowel movements. As sometimes he knows he has gone and sometimes he has no idea that he has gone. There is no house keeping as they have a cleaning lady. We want someone that is caring and kind to take care of him. And has had some experience caring for an elderly hospice type patient. Our mother will also be there but she is 94 and can’t care for him. But can take care of herself and get around with a walker.
