Construction Staff Accountant Needed

Job description

Accurate Pavers is currently seeking a Staff Accountant, with prior construction accounting experience, to work in our accounting department. The position offers competitive compensation with benefits and opportunities for professional growth within the company. Job tasks can, at times, include the following:

Accounts Receivable:

- Posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.

- Job Tracking.

- Updating customer information in QuickBooks.

- Collections.

- Handling NTO’s, Lien’s, and Lien Releases.

- Creating daily cash summary reports of deposits and payments.

- Organizing filing and accounting records.

- Assist with month-end close.

- Assist with year-end close.

- Updating spreadsheets as needed.

- 1099’s, W9’s, W2’s and payroll reconciliation.

Accounts Payable:

- Enter bills.

- Distribute bills for approval from sales reps and project managers.

- Print vendor checks for bills approved for payment.

- File paid bills and aging payables.

- Reconcile vendor statements.

- Request lien releases from vendors as needed.

- Request W9 from vendors and update QuickBooks with information.

- Request and maintain sub-contractor Certificate of Insurance.

- Keep vendor files neat and organized.

Payroll Processing:

- Distribute labor tickets to sales reps and project managers for approval.

- Enter approved labor tickets, time sheets, and commission sheets in payroll module.

- Print payroll checks.

Credit Card Reconciliation:

- Enter credit card receipts.

- Reconcile monthly credit card statements.

Miscellaneous:

- Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.

- Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets.

- Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements.

- Create new processes to improve financial efficiency.

- Report analysis and findings to management team.

- Process cash receipts and record deposit daily.

- Additional support as needed.

- Assist with phone calls as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

- Software proficiency in Excel, MS Office, and QuickBooks.

- Two years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

- Prior accounts receivable experience in the construction industry.

- Job costing and construction experience are a plus.

- Detail and deadline-oriented.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Experience:

- Construction Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)

Language:

- English (Preferred)

- Spanish (Not necessary, but an added bonus!)
