Position: Shell Construction Estimator
This full-time position comes with competitive pay, performance-based bonuses, and benefits. We are looking for skilled individuals to manage estimating and quantity duties in our Estimating Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed takeoffs and generate accurate cost estimates using on-screen takeoff software (ProContractor experience is required).
Analyze material packages (concrete, CMU, lumber, rebar) to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Develop and maintain detailed Excel spreadsheets for cost tracking and reporting.
Prepare and submit monthly Project Status Reports.
Generate bidding RFIs and handle subcontractor and vendor pricing negotiations.
Identify and resolve deficiencies in drawings and provide pricing solutions.
Prepare and follow up on change orders.
Present completed estimates to senior management and clients.
Develop scope clarifications and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for clear project communication.
Create preliminary schedules, identifying critical phases and resource needs.
Provide leadership in Value Engineering and track cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in shell construction estimating.
Proficiency in Viewpoint Pro-Contractor estimating software (minimum of 3+ years is required).
Strong technical skills and knowledge of estimating principles, engineering, procurement, and construction concepts.
Extensive experience analyzing material packages (concrete, CMU, lumber, rebar).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and professional appearance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of material package analysis.
3+ years of experience using Viewpoint Pro-Contractor estimating software.
Ability to visualize construction projects based on drawings and develop accurate takeoffs.
