Job Summary:

The Deli Skills Trainer is the action behind the vision process. The goal of this individual is to train and develop our customers’ deli associates into “PREMIUM DELICATESSEN PROFESSIONALS”. This position will work primarily with Publix Supermarkets making sure that Boar’s Head is seen in only the best places putting product integrity and the Brand first. This position must have an intimate familiarization with the implementation process, and understand the partnership with Publix Supermarkets. The trainer must be a subject matter expert on food safety and product handling. This position will be responsible for seeing customers on a scheduled basis. An excellent work ethic, time management skills, and efficiency are essential. This position requires critical thinking and problem solving skills. This position requires the most tactful communication skills to rally support when meeting with Upper Management of our customers. He/She must be able to measure progress and present the material to store and upper management. The trainer will uphold the policies and procedures of the company at all times. The trainer will also portray a positive image of the company and will have the utmost of professionalism in all actions and communication with customers and the public.

Essential Functions and Duties Will Include being able to Train on the following:

- Special Subs, Wraps, Salads, Limited Time Offers and other products that require preparation

- Product Knowledge, Differentiation, and Selling Features

- Handling and Sanitation

- Monitoring dates on all products. All out of date product must be destroyed.

- Checking the working pieces to ensure proper slicing

- Correcting any rotation problems and bringing it to the deli manager’s attention.

- Issues concerning wrapping and labeling

- Proper recording of case temperatures

- Knowledge on how to properly use cleaning and sanitation products properly

- Merchandising i.e.-setting retail cases POS.

- Proactive walk

- Checking that each item has a price tag.

- Ensuring that standard POS materials are in place (i.e. electro-stats, case stripping, neon signs,

danglers).

- Checking that correct sale signs are up and in the proper place.

- Ensuring Associate are consistently following the proper service model.

- Suggestive and Companion Selling

Additional Responsibilities Will Include:

- Complete DSE’s whenever present in a store.

- Facilitate meeting with Store Manager, Deli Manager, Deli R.I.S.,and Distributor prior to making a commitment to stay in a location for an extended period of time to state purpose, rally support and set measurable goals

- Meet with store manager at least once each month.

- Handle all customer requests in a professional manner.

- Responsible for helping introduce new products

- Facilitate Classroom trainings

- Set goals and help track them

- Documentation (per store)

Additional Responsibilities May Include:

-Acting as a merchandiser when necessary.

-Participating in case sets and promotional set-ups.

-Attending classes, lectures, and seminars for further training as deemed necessary.

-Additional duties needed by the Sales Manager or President.

Knowledge and Abilities:

- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other employees and customers

- Must be able to analyze situations and adopt a quick, effective, and reasonable course of action.

- Knowledge of product line

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

- Lift or carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs; push or pull objects up to 1000 lbs.

- Must have a valid Florida Class D driver’s license.
