Summary of the Junior Property Accountant position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and performing basic accounting tasks. The Junior Accountant will work closely with senior accounting staff to support various financial activities and ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work well in a team are essential for this role.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Coordination of day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable
Ensure that all discounts are taken advantage of, as well as keep accurate financial records for payables, miscellaneous, income, and charges.
Account for all income and expenses in the Current Capital Realty brokerage account: full cycle accounting. Monitor account activity for discrepancies.
Provide regular reconciliation of accounts.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
Report any discrepancies to the senior property accountant.
FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION:
Property Jr Accountant needs to demonstrate a working knowledge of budget preparation, financial and variance reporting, and the understanding of the calculations for escalations and bank reconciliations.
Understands rent escalation, reconciliations, and rent collections.
Review all invoices and proposals and reach out to vendors if any missing information or discrepancy arise.
OTHER:
Additional duties or projects as assigned by Senior Property Accountant or Senior Directors.
Requirements:
Education:
Minimum Associate’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or a Human Resources.
Management related discipline
State Real Estate license preferred
Experience:
At least three {2) years (continuous in one operation) and up to five (5) years of recent property management experience, real estate, commercial or comparable in terms of commercial/retail, ownership, tenant lease arrangements, leasing and rental of commercial real estate, etc.
Technical Skills:
Must have intermediate to advanced: Microsoft Word, and Excel proficiencies
Microsoft Outlook, Angus, and Accounting Software such as MRI, Yardi, or Rent Manager Similar proficiency preferred.
QuickBooks Required.

Ability to keep information strictly confidential
