Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Estimator & Design Liaison to join our dynamic team. This role requires a unique combination of technical knowledge in custom furniture design and manufacturing, along with outstanding communication skills. You will be the key point of contact between our internal manufacturing team and our clients, ensuring that estimates are precise, timelines are clear, and expectations are managed with professionalism and style. Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for custom furniture pieces, including materials, labor, and production timelines
Interpret design drawings and specifications to develop accurate and feasible production quotes
Communicate effectively with clients, designers, and architects to clarify project requirements and manage expectations
Coordinate closely with our in-house manufacturing team to ensure feasibility and alignment between design and production
Provide recommendations to clients regarding materials, finishes, and construction techniques
Revise estimates and communicate changes promptly when project scope evolves
Maintain organized records of all estimates, correspondence, and client interactions
Requirements:
Proven experience in custom furniture estimating, product design, or related field
Strong knowledge of furniture construction methods, materials, and fabrication processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills—professional, clear, and client-facing
Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, shop drawings, and design schematics
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in estimation and design software ideal but not required (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Excel, or similar)
A collaborative attitude and a passion for design, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
Experience working in luxury furniture or high-end design environments
