We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sewing and Assembly staff to participate in day-to-day production within a specialty textile manufacturing environment. This position requiring a combination of hands-on fabrication skills and leadership ability.

You will play a key role in coordinating workflow, maintaining quality, training new hires, and ensuring safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial sewing, pattern-based assembly, and experience working with heavy-duty canvas materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Support, and work alongside a small team of sewing machine operators and assemblers

Operate industrial sewing machines (walking foot, bar tack, box tack, etc.) and cutting equipment

Lay out and cut fabric from technical patterns using hand tools or power cutters

Assemble components using heavy-duty textiles, webbing, fasteners, and reinforcements

Install snaps, grommets, hook-and-loop closures, zippers, and structural inserts

Perform quality control checks and ensure production meets established standards

Maintain shop cleanliness, safety practices, and production documentation

Train and onboard new employees in equipment operation, shop processes, and work safety

Collaborate with management to optimize production flow and solve technical challenges

Requirements:

3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial sewing, textile assembly, or technical fabrication

Strong understanding of fabric behavior, seam construction, reinforcement methods, and production pacing.

Ability to read patterns or production instructions and replicate items accurately

English fluency required (spoken and written); bilingual (Spanish) is a strong plus

Ability to lift and handle large or heavy textile materials as part of daily operations

Strong organizational skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

8 or 10-hour shift available

Monday to Thursday or Monday - Friday
