FlexTekESR (Emergency Sandbag Response) is seeking a Flood Mitigation Logistics Driver to join their growing team! The driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting sandbags and related materials to areas affected by natural disasters, such as floods, using vehicles designed for heavy loads. The driver plays a crucial role in disaster response efforts ensuring timely delivery of sandbags to support emergency responders and volunteers in disaster mitigation efforts.
Compensation: $500 per trip
Schedule: On Call
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Operate trucks, trailers, or other heavy-duty vehicles to deliver sandbags and related materials to designated disaster-affected locations.
-Adhere to all safety protocols during loading, transit, and unloading processes to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of all personnel involved. This includes following guidelines for safe vehicle operation and material handling.
-Perform routine inspections of the truck and trailer, ensuring that all equipment is in proper working condition. Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
-Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities transported, delivery times, and any incidents or delays encountered during transit. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
-Valid Class A CDL
-MUST HAVE: Local Owner-Operator (Day Cab or Sleeper)
-Motor Truck Insurance (General Liability or Truckload coverage required)
-Ability to use the Onfleet Driver App (Access to download and operate the app)
-On-Call Availability (Flexibility to respond to urgent transport needs)
-Tandem Axle Truck (Required)
-Sleeper Cab (Preferred, but not mandatory)
-Experience with Heavy-Duty Vehicles (Particularly in emergency material transport)
-Physical Capability (Ability to lift heavy materials and assist with loading/unloading sandbags)
-Strong Communication & Coordination Skills (Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations)
Working Conditions:
-Environment: Work is primarily conducted outdoors in various weather conditions, often in areas affected by natural disasters.
-Hours: On-call availability, including nights and weekends, may be required to meet the demands of emergency situations.
-Travel: Frequent travel to disaster-affected regions is expected, with potential for extended periods away from the base location.
