Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Medical Assistant to join our Podiatry Office. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the doctor in the treatment rooms and interacting directly with patients. Your role will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and patient satisfaction.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk
- Collect patient information, update medical records, and verify insurance coverage
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and faxes
- Manage medical office supplies and inventory
- Assist the doctor in treatment room
- Take X-rays for patients as needed
- Prepare lab specimen for processing
- Clean the treatment room
- Sterilize instruments
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Proficiency in using medical office software systems
- Strong knowledge of medical scheduling procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
