We are seeking a compassionate live-in caregiver to help with all activities of daily living of my 80-year-old mother, who has Alzheimer’s. Despite her illness, she remains playful and loves to laugh. We seek a responsible and lighthearted person who can continue to bring out this joy in her and add some sunshine to her days. Though she speaks English her native language is Spanish, so there is a preference for Spanish speakers.
Since this is a live-in position, the hours would not be fixed. We would arrange a schedule that allows for ample rest, with the expectation of occasional night shifts, approximately 2 nights per week.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
help provide companionship & emotional support
use of sound judgment with an emphasis on safety
assisting with personal hygiene needs (toileting and showers)
cooking healthy meals
light housekeeping plus many small tasks around the house
help create a joyful and supportive home care environment
keep Mom smiling and out of trouble : )
Preferred but not essential:
female candidates aged 22-45 (a granddaughter-like age)
Spanish speaking
Schedule:
Six days per week with one day off.
We are currently looking for only a 2-month commitment. We may want to do a longer time span in the future, but there is no guarantee of that at this point in time.
Compensation:
$2600 per month
includes room and board
