In the bar prep cook role, the essential duties are to prepare all syrups, cocktail batches, and fresh garnishes according to recipes before each service. Efficiency, time management, organizational skills, and consistency are the most important necessities for this role. Effective communication with other Back of House employees from dishwashers to Executive Chef will also be essential.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Cutting fresh produce and preparing garnishes for the day
Handling expensive alcohol products carefully and responsibly
Occasionally receiving Liquor Deliveries and stocking the Liquor Room
Making advanced syrup and cocktail batch recipes
Monitoring the inventory of cocktail batches and getting ahead so there's never an 86'd cocktail
Communicating to management any errors, discrepancies and/or inventory shortages
Keeping track of produce inventory and filling out daily requisition sheets
Remain consistent and follow precise recipes
Attention to detail, meticulously follow instructions
Handling multiple tasks efficiently in a high pressure environment
Knowledge/ability to use prep equipment, including sharp knives, in a safe manner
Working knowledge of food and sanitation guidelines and regulations
Able to stand for extended periods
Able to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs
Schedule: 5 days/week; 30-40 hours based on business
