The Business/Data Analyst who joins CGI will work closely with business users to capture data and analytics requirements and then translate them to functional /technical requirements. This role is a key contributor by collaborating with business & IT to deliver solutions to strategic business needs and roadmaps. The successful candidate will ideally have hands-on experience with the Azure Cloud platform and Synapse as well as Power BI from an analytics perspective.This opportunity requires that the candidate be on-site in our Ft Lauderdale, FL site in a hybrid manner, 3 days per week.Your future duties and responsibilities: Act as a bridge between the technology domain and the business domain to address and help define solutions for data and analytics needs for an organization. Work with the business to learn about the type of information needed, the types of business decisions that needs to be made, available vs. required Data assets, degree of data Literacy, to help identify the right data for the right business decision. Help develop and maintain Canonical models to represent information needs. Analyze source systems to correlate available information to the required information defined by the Canonical models. Develop source-to-target data mapping. Help formularize and formulate the information and analytics requirements in a functional design form and help build an abstract business oriented semantic layer for analytics for BI tools. Research best practices and supports developing the solutions and recommendations for the current business operations. Provide Business Intelligence analysis and interpretation Work with data engineers to develop appropriate data pipelines to populate data into the Canonicals Help develop required operational processes to productionalize developed analytical solutions. Produce guidance and assistance to accommodate/assist with self-service analytics As needed, help business users to build/enhance ad dashboards and reportsRequired qualifications to be successful in this role: More than 5 years of experience as a Business/Data Analyst with a strong background with data analysis (prior experience as a Data Analyst is a plus) Hands-on experience using SQL for performing data profiling & ad-hoc data analysis, leveraging advance SQL querying knowledge Ideally you should have hands-on experience with Azure and Synapse as well as Power BI from an analytics perspective Experience with the elicitation of requirements and utilizing the requirements to create business documentation (BRD’s/ FRD’s) Experience doing data mapping and building data models (Canonical, Normalized, Dimensional) and dashboards Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills as well as Interpersonal and consultative skills Excellent Analytical thinking and problem solving Knowledge of the business and technology structure Can express business requirements as well-formed user stories and acceptance criteriaCGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
