Medical Records Specialist

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Business Manager in the Medical industry. This position is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and will be performed on a remote basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and directing the operations of our medical records department, and will need to have proficiency in a variety of software programs including Database, EO/IR systems, EHR System, Electronic Medical Record, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records).Responsibilities: Overseeing the management and maintenance of all medical records and related documents. Ensuring that all medical records are stored, retrieved, and disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations and standards. Coordinating with other departments and staff to resolve issues related to medical records. Implementing and maintaining a system for tracking subpoenas and other legal documents related to medical records. Providing training and guidance to staff on the use of EMR systems and other related software. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies regarding the handling and storage of medical records. Monitoring and analyzing the efficiency of the medical records system and making necessary adjustments to improve its performance. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in medical records management. Collaborating with IT staff to ensure the security and functionality of the medical records system. Handling related administrative duties as required. Requirements Proficiency in the use of databases for record keeping and data analysis Familiarity with EO/IR systems for medical imaging and diagnostics Ability to handle and understand subpoenas related to the healthcare industry Proficiency in the use of the EHR System for patient data management Expert knowledge and experience in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Ability to adapt to different EMR systems, including specific ones like EMR - Electronic Medical Records Knowledge of medical business management practices and strategies Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead a team Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders including doctors, nurses, patients, and insurance companies Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation in a healthcare setting Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field is preferred Relevant work experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry.
