Junior Estimator Wanted for a Site Development/Construction Company
Full job description:
The Junior Estimator will be working with the Estimating team to prepare and submit public and private bids.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting the Estimating Team with quantity takeoffs, requesting subcontractor and vendor quotes, filing, attending pre-bid meetings, and assisting in estimate preparation.
Ability to measure work in quantities/Excellent written and communication skills, attention to detail/Able and willing to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Assist with the preparation, submission and delivery of construction proposals, tenders, and estimates.
Professional Accountability:
1. Learn the use of – B2W estimating software and AGTEK earthwork takeoff/modeling software
2. Pursue subcontractor and vendor pricing.
3. Seeks/accepts training to learn new skills and maintain current competencies.
4. Works effectively and cooperatively in groups/teams to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective Customer Service
5. Communicates effectively with administrators, directors, managers, and other members of the team.
7. Other duties as assigned

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read plans, schematics, geotechnical reports, environmental assessment reports.
Experience in civil construction.
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work well in teams
Excellent English verbal/written skills are necessary.
Advanced computer literacy and skills
Some knowledge of civil engineering projects materials and methods
Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines with multiple competing priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
8-hour shift
Monday to Friday 8AM - 5PM
Experience:
Construction estimating: 1 year (Preferred)
