We are a local South Florida construction company in business for more than 20 years. We are looking for a construction estimator to join our team.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team. You will be responsible for estimating the costs of construction projects, defining project scope, timelines, and resource requirements, creating project budgets and schedules, managing project costs, assessing project issues and risks. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in construction estimating, project management, and cost control. Project Management background a plus.
Duties:
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate estimating.
-Bidding: Lead the preparation and submission of bid documents, ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, equipment, subcontractor bids, and labor.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Learn to utilize our construction software for estimating.
- Monitor project progress and costs to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction estimating and project management.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficiency in cost control techniques and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
