Description:Provide engineering support on current legacy Sound-Powered product aswell as new VOIP communications product used in Marine communications.VOIP products include VOIP phones purchased from industry vendors, POEEthernet Endpoints designed in house, PA/GA systems, switches, UPSequipment, and various connection interfaces used to integrate thecommunications system to the ships PA/GA system. Identify and implementsolutions to systemic system failures. Assist field and in-housepersonnel in identifying failure causes and their solutions in the field.Provide equipment placement plans and identifying equipment for new salesbids. Identify needed engineering changes needed in manufacturing tohelp facilitate the repeatable manufacturability of current product.Responsibilities: Preparing bid proposals for equipment, installation, commissioning,test and documentation Designing new products including individual component selection,wiring, lowest production costs, labeling and testing Providing customers with information in the form of data sheets,drawings, technical manuals and test procedures System design layout (including power/equipment hookup, cable/productselection and external equipment/system interface) Obtaining customer and Regulatory Body approval as applicable Engineering point of contact to customer for Canadian and US CoastGuard vessels, Canadian and US Passenger/AutoTransport vessels, Military Sealift Command vessels and variousWorkboats/Supply Vessels/Tugs Traveling to meet with US and foreign customers to support anytechnical questions Providing final approval for all information being released by theEngineering Department Providing final testing of new software releases in company labSkills:Testing, requirements gathering, requirements management, Verification, validation protocols, Marine, Project Management, confluence, jiraTop Skills Details:Testing,requirements gathering,requirements management,Verification,validation protocolsAdditional Skills & Qualifications:MUST:-2+ years professional experience -Customer Interaction-Engineering Degree-Selection of electronics equipment
