Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the insurance brokerage industry. Our office is located in Deerfield Beach, Florida, 33442, United States. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be an integral part of our team, directly reporting to the CFO. Your key responsibilities will revolve around the full execution of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and month-end close activities.Responsibilities: Handle full-cycle AR and AP operations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in a timely manner. Perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations regularly to keep our books in order. Prepare and post journal entries, maintaining the integrity of our general ledger. Utilize Microsoft Excel and other technology tools to streamline and automate accounting processes. Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and final reports are produced on schedule. Manage customer invoices and process vendor invoices, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. Develop and manage a schedule of monthly activities to ensure all accounting tasks are completed in a timely manner. Utilize our Agency Management System (AMS), a tool specific to the insurance industry, to manage and track our company's financial operations. Play a hands-on role, directly contributing to the company's financial management and reporting processes. Work directly with the CFO, contributing to strategic financial decisions and planning. Requirements Hold a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role as a senior accountant. Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Demonstrated experience in general ledger management and journal entries. Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to manipulate large datasets. Experience with month-end close procedures. Knowledge of insurance brokerage procedures. Experience in handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks. Ability to reconcile vendor statements effectively. Experience in processing and entering vendor invoices. Familiarity with customer invoicing procedures.
