Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a meticulous and organized Accounts Payable Clerk in the construction industry. This role is based in Daytona Beach, Florida, and will focus on maintaining payable information, analyzing expense reports, and working with vendors to resolve past due invoices.Responsibilities: Manage petty cash accounts and document all outgoing payments. Monitor vendor agreements for potential discounts that could lower invoice costs. Verify and process sales tax payments on relevant invoices. Track company credits and apply them correctly to vendor payments. Conduct monthly reconciliation of payable reports to verify payment accuracy. Maintain up-to-date accounts and support invoicing operations. Review expense reports to allocate payments to appropriate cost centers. Collaborate with vendors to resolve overdue invoices and reconcile monthly statements. Apply Accounts Payable (AP) expertise to ensure efficient and accurate task completion.Requirements Must possess knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP). Experience in the construction/contractor industry is preferred. Should demonstrate proficiency in using accounting software. Must have excellent organizational skills for managing large volumes of invoices and payments. Strong attention to detail is required for accurately entering and checking data. Must have excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers and resolve any payment queries. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team. Should have the ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively. Experience in managing and resolving invoice discrepancies is necessary.
