The Psychological Assistant provides technical support to clinical faculty and staff. The duties entail administration of age-appropriate, standardized tests evaluating cognition (e.g. memory, concentration, language, behavioral, intelligence, achievement) for the purpose of assisting the board certified, licensed clinical psychologist in the diagnosis of neuropsychological, cognitive, neurobehavioral, and emotional disorders. The Psychological Assistant must ensure an appropriate testing environment, accurate scoring of all tests and preparation of detailed summary of scores, and behavioral observations for the Board Certified Licensed Clinical Psychologist. The ideal candidate has experience administering cognitive and achievement tests and has excellent report writing skills. The candidate must have experience working with children, adolescents and adults.

This position is available immediately. The ideal candidate will be able to work at least ten hours a week, which can include at least two in-person appointment days per month (typically occurring on Thursdays and/or Saturdays) with supervision from a Licensed Psychologist. The consultant will undergo a training period that will be assessed regularly. During this period, the consultant will shadow and observe the professional at Ultimate Thinking Psychological Consultants, PA interviewing, administering, interpreting, and report writing a full battery of psychological assessments. Once the observation period has concluded, the professional at UTPC will assess whether the consultant is prepared to administer a psychological assessment under in-vivo supervision and independently. Flexible scheduling is available.

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to this position, such as, psychology or a related field

● Knowledge of mental health practices

● Excellent communication skills

● Ability to work with children and parents, including cognitively impaired children

● Ability to accurately record/document patient observations systematically and reliably

Preferred Qualifications

● Prior training relevant to the administration of psychometric tests (psychological and neuropsychological measures) in a clinical or a research setting

● Current enrollment in graduate level coursework in psychology

● Three years prior experience or equivalent training and experience via graduate level coursework and practicum relevant to the administration of psychometric tests in a clinical or research setting
