The Director for Student Success Training and Technology develops and implements comprehensive training and professional development for the University of Miami undergraduate student success community, including academic advising. This includes collaborating with leadership from the schools/colleges/departments and other campus partners to create and facilitate accurate, timely, and high-quality programming. The Director will also collaborate with IT, who supports student success technology platforms at the University such as EAB Navigate, on community adoptions, consultation, and training needs.Student Success Initiatives, Training & Development

Coordinate professional development opportunities for the student success community, including connection to NACADA (the global community for academic advising) and other academic advising, student success, and higher education organizations. This includes staying current on developments and trends in the academic advising and student success profession and seeking relevant conference and presentation opportunities.

Develop and review training materials, including how-to documentation, manuals, online modules, and videos.

Facilitate in-person and online training and professional development sessions, that may be synchronous and asynchronous modalities.

Collaborate with the schools and colleges, student success community, and critical campus partners to develop a training curriculum, including creating a certification and staff mentoring program that aligns with national best practices.

In partnership with leadership, create and manage working competency models to integrate with career path maps for all professional job tracks in the unit. Tie competency models to professional development offerings.

Partner with Human Resources Client Services and Talent & Organizational Development team to leverage resources and programs available to the community.

Undergraduate Student Success Consortium

Participate in the Undergraduate Student Success Consortium.

Coordinate student success community networking opportunities.

Chair the professional development & recognition committee of the Undergraduate Student Success Consortium.

Support the planning and implementation of the annual Student Success Summit.

Student Success Technology

Serve as the primary liaison between Student Success and IT.

Coordinate communication of technology updates and changes (e.g, EAB Navigate) to student success communities.

Work with IT to create student success technology training and support materials and incorporate into training and professional development programs.

Align student support workflow development to include Navigate and other student service technologies.

Advocate for the adoption of and consistent use of student success technologies and provide ongoing training of tools.

Work with IT to remove real or perceived roadblocks to student success technology utilization.

Work together with the internal-EAB Navigate operational team and serve on EAB Leadership Team.

Administrative Responsibilities

Establish and implement short- and long-term program goals and objectives.

Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders, to include students, faculty, and staff.

Assist in the development of content to be included on the websites, email communications, and newsletters related to student success.

Determine the resources required to complete each project and prepare proposals to garner support from leadership.

Coordinate assessment, data collection, and reporting of training and professional development program outcomes.

Serve on University of Miami committees as assigned.
