The Athletics Video Producer creates, produces, and directs professional video and motion graphics packages to serve the department’s goals regarding fan entertainment, revenue generation, and branding. Additionally, the incumbent serves as the primary contact for all live video streaming events. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Produces and directs all in-venue videos to be played on stadium and arena videoboards during pregame, starting lineup player introductions, halftime, and time outs. Designs and creates motion graphics to be displayed in-venue on ribbon and video boards. Participates in the writing, shooting, and editing of commercial short story content pieces, game day television shows, news type features, sales and promotion content, and website and in-game content. Supports marketing campaigns through the development of video packages for online platforms. Coordinates and produces the department’s live streaming broadcasts and serves as liaison to third-party video production companies. Develops graphics to improve the viewer experience of live events and ensures a quality broadcast. Leads and directs the filming of original video content for in-venue and online distribution. Serves as the staff resource for the latest trends in video style, production, resolution, mobile-compatibility, and strategy. Maintains a consistent visual image and brand identity as established by graphic designers. DEPARTMENT ADDENDUMDepartment Specific Functions The University of Miami Athletics Department is seeking a video producer. This entry level position will assist in departmental broadcasts across various distribution channels. The video producer will work on the University of Miami’s main campus in Coral Gables. The position will be required to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays as dictated by the broadcast schedule.The video producer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in the production of University of Miami sporting events across the ESPN family of networks.
Setup and strike of broadcast cameras and other broadcast equipment
Assist with equipment upkeep and maintenance
Fulfill above and below the line roles on linear, digital, and in-house productions.
Edit and produce assigned studio shows and podcasts.
Recruit and train student-workers.
Maintain a strong attention to detail
Perform other duties as assigned.
Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with departmental, University, conference and NCAA procedures, rules and regulations
Department Specific Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum two years of experience in live sport production as either a student, freelance or full-time employee
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Working knowledge of current industry standard audio/video equipment.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
PREFERED SKILLS:
Experience using EVS LSM instant replay equipment or similar product
Experience using Ross XPressions or similar equipment
Proficiency using non-linear editing system (Premiere Pro, AVID, etc.)
Working knowledge of Panasonic camera systems
