University of Miami, Michele Bowman Underwood Department of Modern Languages and Literatures is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor, beginning August 15, 2024. This Assistant Professor is expected to contribute to the department’s intellectual life by maintaining an active research and publication agenda focusing on French literature, teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, directing dissertations, and serving on departmental, college, and/or university committees. We seek candidates whose teaching and research intersect with the work of other faculty in Modern Languages and Literatures and elsewhere in the College of Arts and Sciences. The teaching assignment is two courses per semester.Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in French Literature or a closely related field.Applications consisting of a curriculum vitae (CV), cover letter, and list of recommenders should be submitted through the UM website (LINK). Review of applications will begin April 20 and will continue until the position is filled. Three letters of recommendation, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a writing sample will be required of all candidates chosen for remote interviews.
