This position requires judgment and decision making, along with flexibility and the ability to alter or prioritize daily work duties as needed. Assists in the coordination and completion of assigned clinic projects. Compiles, organizes and analyzes data for administrative decisions requested. Processes, organizes and priorities assignments:

Prepares medical record reviews, to include QI Review Tools. Networks with the billing staff to ensure a random selection of medical records. Compiles final report of reviews with data provided by the staff for the nursing director’s review and direction.

Assists with the local CHD clinic equipment maintenance for required equipment. Initiates requisitions, schedules vendors, ensures work is completed satisfactory and updates the logs.

Prepares and initiates annual updates for local Clinic Policies and Procedures, Desk Procedures, Medicaid Standard of Care Protocols and ARNP Protocols and maintains employee license file. Assists with annual Family Planning Requirements.

Maintains Healthy Start Screen monitoring tool and prenatal choice funded data. Forwards appropriate data to the Budget manager and Clerical supervisor monthly.

Coordinates and tracks nursing department training schedules, assists lead nurse with CE certificates and CE Broker.

Prepares correspondence, labels, meeting minutes and agendas and reports using computer software tools.

Utilizes and assists with the maintenance of standard business and office machines, educates the staff on the use of the machines.

Creates, updates, maintains and organizes all clinic manuals and electronic forms and files.

CLINIC DUTIES:Perform clinical procedures, to include:

Properly take vital signs and input them into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Perform intake interviews (including allergies and pregnancy status) and input into EHR.

Prepare clients for the clinician’s exam and assist provider as needed with examinations, administer basic first aid and operate office medical equipment.

Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the clinician by performing basic laboratory procedures to include pregnancy test and venipuncture.

Input lab requests into Emdeon, manifest labs at the end of the day, package and transport lab specimens as required by local protocols.

Assist clients with the set up and activation of the patient portal.

CLINIC SUPPORT SERVICES:

Works independently on special projects throughout the course of the year including but not limited to:

Prepares clinic area for clinic service (i.e., stock supplies, maintain equipment, maintain educational folders for each exam room). Keep clinic area clean and free from hazards for clients and staff.

Sanitize exam rooms per “Infection Control Policies”.

Follow OSHA standards for Hazardous Waste. Perform monthly inspection/inventory of emergency carts, remove and replace expired supplies.

Yearly building inspection and maintenance. Coordinates with Maintenance Staff to ensure projects are assigned and completed.

Local CHD Clinic and staffing expert under the Nursing Directors direction:

Creates, modifies and notifies appropriate staff of clinic schedules according to team needs in the HMS system and weekly clinic coverage.

Reviews weekly schedule with Nursing Director to ensure adequate clinic coverage. Posts schedules as appropriate weekly

Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic lab procedures to include collection of blood (venipuncture) prepare and read pregnancy test and input results into HMS. Prepare Amplified Gonorrhea/Chlamydia specimens (urine and swab) and input orders into Emdeon. Prepare and package instruments for Autoclave, properly document each cycle to include spore tests monthly. Ariba On Demand training and experience. At least one year experience with HMS, FL SHOTs, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, Acrobat computer programs. Three years’ experience in clerical, customer service, problem solving skills.

Qualifications:

Minimum -
