OverviewThe Internal Audit Intern will learn the fundamentals of auditing through training and working one on one with members of the ODP Internal Audit team. They will gain a basic understanding of the risk and controls environment of a publicly traded company. They will gain exposure to our team’s methodology and work programs as it pertains to Internal Controls testing for several key company processes.Primary Responsibilities:

Perform SOX and operational control testing to support the testing phase (organize, examine, and analyze data, document testing procedures in standard work papers and draw conclusions based on testing results)

Participate in and document business process and controls walkthroughs. Listen to process owners describe their business processes, actively take notes throughout meetings, organize and apply notes to given tasks.

Assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks or initiative projects to support the Internal Audit function.

Identify process and/or control gaps; document any exceptions to the process and identify any improvement opportunities.

Education and Experience:

Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems, with coursework in accounting, finance, and other business classes

Preferred but none required

Prior knowledge or experience in analytics, audit, finance and/or IT is a plus

Preferred but non required. Pursuing certifications in relevant accounting and audit fields such as CPA, CIA, CISA is a plus.

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Strong analytical reasoning aptitude

Excellent problem-solving skills

Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Fearlessly curious – challenging the status quo by looking at solutions in unconventional ways and seeing opportunities to innovate.

Proven leadership skills alongside academic, athletic, or extracurricular excellence.

Aptitude and willingness to learn and self-teach new skills.

Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during entire length of program.
