If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.The Food & Beverage Manager supervises daily restaurant and lobby lounge operations and assists with menu planning, maintains sanitation standards, and assists servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods. He/she strives to continually improve guest and Associate satisfaction and maximize the financial performance in areas of responsibility. The Food & Beverage Manager determines training needed to accomplish goals, then implements plans.ResponsibilitiesSupervise daily shift operations and manage associate.Manage day-to-day operations, ensure quality standards, and meet the expectations of guests daily.Understand Associate positions well enough to perform duties in Associate’s absence.Maintain service and sanitation standards in the restaurant.Review staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.Meet with guests on an informal basis during meals or upon departure to obtain feedback on quality of food and beverage, service levels and overall satisfaction.Ensure corrective action is taken to continuously improve service results.Manage service delivery in lobby lounge and restaurant to ensure excellent service from point of entry to departure (e.g., greeting from host/hostess, speed of order taking and food and beverage delivery, fulfillment of special requests, collection of payment and invitation to return).Oversee the financial aspects of the department including purchasing and payment of invoices.Assist staff on the floor during meal periods and high demand times.Maintain the productivity level of Associates.Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.Assist in production of the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for food and beverage operations.Perform daily walk-through of lobby lounge and restaurant to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa standards.Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Associates; conduct performance appraisals, coach and counsel, progressive corrective action, motivate, develop, and train.Ensure all daily rehearsal meetings are conducted.Participate in departmental meetings and communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.Ensure Associates receive on-going training to understand guest expectations.Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role in a food and beverage environment.Strong restaurant operation background.Possess the following strengths: high energy, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line.Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.Strong food/wine and liquor knowledge is required.Knowledge of Micros or other Point of Sale (POS) systems is a plus.ServSafe Certification is a plus.EducationHigh school diploma or GED.OR2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major.Skills and AbilitiesAbility to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations as well as the techniques and equipment for preparing and presenting food products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques, proper chemical handling, and sanitation standards.Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Physical RequirementsMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.This company is an equal opportunity employer.frnch1
