GENERAL SUMMARY :The Chief Physician Executive (CPE) at AdventHealth is a strategic leader dedicated to advancing clinical excellence and operational effectiveness across key physician-led programs, including the hospital medicine program, Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program, credentialing verification office, physician well-being and engagement initiatives, and Graduate Medical Education (GME). The CPE provides direct oversight of the Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Health Equity Officer, ensuring that these roles align with AdventHealth’s mission of whole-person, compassionate care.The CPE will bridge physician-specific objectives with the broader clinical strategy set by the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), ensuring that the organization’s goals for safe, exceptional, and cost-effective care are practically implemented.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :Strategic Alignment and Execution : Operationalize the CCO’s strategic vision across hospital medicine, CDI, and credentialing programs, ensuring that physician-led initiatives support AdventHealth’s quality, safety, and patient experience standards. Implement strategies that translate high-level goals into actionable and measurable outcomes in key physician-led programs. Physician Development and Well-being : Serve as the primary advocate for physician well-being and professional growth. Lead efforts to support physician wellness, engagement, and satisfaction, reducing burnout and fostering an environment where physicians feel valued and empowered. Develop structured mentorship and leadership pathways for future physician leaders. Cross-functional Collaboration : Establish strong collaborative relationships with nursing and clinical leadership to ensure an integrated approach to care delivery. Act as a key partner to the CCO by leading and aligning physician leaders, facilitating consistent collaboration, and promoting shared decision-making to meet AdventHealth’s clinical and operational goals. Data-Driven Decision-Making : Work closely with data and analytics teams to ensure meaningful, physician-centered application of data insights, across programs of oversight. Oversight of Physician-Led Programs and Roles : Provide direct leadership and accountability for the Chief Scientific Officer, Chief Health Equity Officer, and Graduate Medical Education programs. Focus on guiding these roles to align with the organization’s clinical priorities and health equity goals, ensuring that each area is effectively supporting AdventHealth’s systemwide mission and values. Communication and Engagement : As an important communication link between physician leadership and the executive suite, deliver clear, concise, and engaging updates that keep physician teams informed and aligned with AdventHealth’s strategic direction. Maintain an open, transparent line of communication, fostering trust and alignment between physicians and executive leadership. Team Building and Mentorship : Create a culture of collaboration and accountability by building strong, cohesive teams. Invest in growing and mentoring physicians, promoting continuous improvement, and ensuring that physician teams operate in alignment with AdventHealth’s standards and goals. Change Management within Physician Programs : Lead change management strategies tailored to physician-led programs, addressing unique challenges within physician workflows and enhancing adaptability to new initiatives. Ensure that all changes are communicated effectively, with a focus on minimizing disruption and supporting physicians through the transition.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :· Strategic Clinical Leadership: Ability to set and drive clinical strategies that align with organizational goals. Skilled in transforming strategic vision into actionable plans across physician-led programs, ensuring alignment with long-term clinical and operational objectives.· Change Leadership: Proficiency in change management, with the ability to guide teams through organizational transformations and new initiatives. Skilled at minimizing resistance, fostering engagement, and ensuring smooth transitions to new processes or policies.· Effective Communicator and Engaging Speaker : Ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. Skilled in fostering alignment and enthusiasm for organizational goals.· Relationship Building and Influence: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships at all levels. Experienced in fostering collaboration, alignment, and shared decision-making among physicians, executive leaders, and interdisciplinary teams.· Team Builder and Collaborator : Proven capacity to build cohesive teams that work effectively across departments. The CPE will instill a culture of trust, collaboration, and shared accountability.· Initiative & Program Execution Expertise : Proven ability to lead and executive complex initiatives across clinical settings, with a focus on driving alignment, efficiency, and measurable improvements. Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing resources effectively, and using data insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement. This expertise ensures that programs and initiatives achieve intended outcomes and supporting organizational goals.· Financial and Resource Acumen : Understanding of healthcare finance principles, resource allocation, and cost-effectiveness.
